Current Research Activities:

Various aspects of coffee, corn, cotton, grape, rice, sugarcane, and imported fire ant management have been addressed at Texas A&M University. Current projects include,
a.

Cotton Scoutmaster database management software (Wilson, Huffman, Fuchs, Baugh)

b.

A physiological-based analysis of rice maturation, yield, and quality (Wilson, Wu, Park, McClung, Pinson)

c.

Boll weevil overwintering survival and emergence model (Wilson, Bozkurt, Parajulee, Rummel, Carroll, Trichilo)

d.

Association between potential vectors of Pierce's Grape Disease and the presence of the disease in vineyards (Cook, Wilson, Kamas, McEarchern)

e.

Development, survival, and reproduction of two malaria vectors in Texas (Olson, Wilson)

f.

The impact of naturally occurring and augmentatively release predators on spider mites on corn (Archer, Wilson, Lascano)

g.

Development and evaluation of B.t. transgenic cottons (R. Smith, El-Zik, Wilson)

h.

A field assessment of Mexican fruitfly control using sterile male inundative releases (Wharton, Wilson)

i.

Updates to the Weed-ID and Weed Control Advisor programs (Wilson, Bozkurt, Klosterboer)

Serves as a co-major professor for three students, serves as a graduate committee member for three students, and serves as a graduate committee representative for three students. In addition, supports two post-doctoral researchers who are actively assisted with scientific writing and grantsmanship and in the use of advanced analytical approaches to experimentation and data analysis.

 

Publication Record:

In excess of 200 scientific publications (approximately 90 during the last 8 years).

 

Grants Received:

Approximately 60 grants totaling $5.5 million in funding over the last 20 years.
